McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, a 310-bed healthcare facility, needed a dependable hot water solution that could perform at high altitude with very cold incoming water and provide fail-safe reliability for patient services. Intellihot Inc. was selected to address the hospital’s need for continuous hot water while also eliminating legionella risk and supporting emergency fuel conversion.

Intellihot Inc. installed three iQ1501 tankless water heaters with zero storage, delivering 4,500,000 BTU/hr to handle 40-degree groundwater at an elevation of more than 4,500 feet. The solution provided redundant, on-demand hot water without single-point failure, reduced waste, and helped ensure uninterrupted service, with the added benefit of converting from natural gas to propane during emergencies.
