Simpson College retains 38 at-risk students with IntelliBoard

Simpson College, a private liberal arts college, faced the challenge of effectively measuring and supporting student engagement after a rapid pivot to fully online learning during the pandemic. They needed a secure way to collect and distribute student engagement data to faculty and staff to help retain at-risk students. The college used IntelliBoard Lite, a product integrated with their Moodle LMS, to address this challenge.

IntelliBoard provided the solution through its Course Inactivity Report and CEND feature, which automated the process of identifying disengaged students. IntelliBoard further developed a custom SFTP integration to merge this data with other student information, creating comprehensive, automated reports. This solution had a measurable impact, as Simpson College estimates IntelliBoard helped them retain at least 38 at-risk students who would not have otherwise finished the semester successfully.
