How Palomar Specialty is Modernizing Policy & Document Creation

Palomar Specialty Insurance, a La Jolla-based specialty carrier, faced slow, error-prone policy and document production because highly customized catastrophe insurance policies required many manual steps across multiple forms. To scale into new distribution channels and capitalize on market opportunities, Palomar turned to Intelledox, standardizing on the Intelledox Infiniti platform (integrated with Pega, Microsoft SharePoint and DocuSign) to modernize and digitize its document-centric workflows.

Intelledox implemented a REST/JSON-based document creation and filing solution that pulls underwriting decisions from Pega’s rules engine, dynamically pre-fills state- and postal-code-specific documents, and archives files to SharePoint. The Intelledox-driven automation has accelerated processes—policies that once took days can now be produced in sometimes less than an hour—while reducing errors, lowering overhead, speeding new product and territory launches, and improving customer and partner satisfaction.
