Intellectyx worked with North America’s leading construction bidding company, an analytics and software-based workflow integration provider serving the construction industry, to tackle the challenge of extracting and organizing information from highly varied sources. Their online construction bidding platform collected data from websites, aggregators, emails, web forms, web services, and many document types, including PDFs, images, DWG, BIM, DOC, XLS, CSV, HTML, XML, and plain text, all with different levels of structure.

Intellectyx implemented an automated data extraction and indexing solution using PDF text extraction engines, OCR, and NLP rules to convert text, tables, raster images, and vector images into XML and searchable PDFs. The system also updated bookmarks and tables of contents and supported batch processing for large document volumes. As a result, the customer could gather data from disparate sources, automate extraction from construction PDFs, search unstructured documents in seconds, and generate reports and visualization charts from aggregated information.
