Mobile Software AS, an emerging Norwegian startup behind community apps Mama and Buddy, hired Intellectsoft to build Buddy — a location-based social network designed to show friends on a map and enable free on‑screen HD video messaging. The challenge was to create a full-featured iOS and Android mobile community that would replace “where are you?” and “what are you up to?” with real‑time geolocation and video interaction.

Intellectsoft delivered full‑stack development plus strategic support and marketing, producing the Buddy app with map-based friend discovery, HD video chat, a promotional video localized into nine languages, and early versions that were well received. The partnership eliminated prior delays (founder Rich Larsen reported “not a single day of delay”), led Intellectsoft to take over the stalled initial project, and resulted in a third solution (Mama) built on the same platform, with Buddy moving into final development for a summer 2016 launch.
