Case Study: Heraeus reduces lost-time incidents and streamlines global EHS with Intelex

A Intelex Case Study

Preview of the Heraeus Case Study

Where Technology and Innovation Intersect with Bricks and Mortar

Heraeus is a global technology company founded in 1660, with more than 16,000 employees across about 100 sites. After a 2019 corporate restructuring the company reexamined its EHS (environment, health and safety) systems and found inconsistent incident processes, limited transparency of EHS data, and time-consuming manual workflows that hindered risk identification and follow-up.

To address this, Heraeus rolled out Intelex in August 2020 as the backbone of a Global EHS Framework—paired with an EHS Development Path and an assessment program. The centralized platform standardized incident, risk and action management, increased transparency and participation, and cut manual work and costs. Results include improved incident response and compliance, a 10% drop in LTIs in Germany and 40% in the U.S. (2020–2021), more than 1,300 risk assessments and 20,000 actions recorded, 60% time savings on standard risk assessments, and ISO 14001/45001 certification for 60+ sites.
