Cermaq is one of the world’s largest fish-farming companies, with about 4,200 employees across Norway, Canada and Chile and annual production of roughly 158,000 tons of salmon and trout. The company needed a cloud-based, multilingual quality management system to streamline customer claims, reduce manual spreadsheet work, handle multiple currencies and enable customizable incident logging so staff could capture root-cause details and operate seamlessly across its global footprint.
In 2015 Cermaq deployed Intelex’s Incident Management—customized into Safety Management, Food Safety & Environment Incident Management and Customer Claims—and later expanded to Document Control, Training, Audits, Supplier Relations and a Canada-specific checklist app. The solution eliminated manual systems, provided site-specific categories and instant production data for claims, improved global alignment via a workgroup, and drove a 300% increase in incident reporting along with faster, more accurate decision-making.
