Construction Materials Company Achieves 63% Reduction in Recordable Incidents

Boral Bricks, part of Boral Limited, is a U.S. producer of clay bricks, roof tiles and stone veneer with 46 showrooms and a nationwide sales network. The company needed a user-friendly, self-administered training system to strengthen its safety culture and train several hundred employees on hazardous tasks, standard operating procedures and safety policies — including support for a multilingual, diverse workforce.

Boral chose Intelex’s Training Management software for its configurability, bilingual quizzes and ability to include audio and visual aids, rolling the system out to all 46 locations and about 250 employees in roughly one month. The initiative delivered a 63% reduction in recordable incidents (FY2012–FY2013), zero lost-time incidents, more efficient in-house training administration and reduced burden on internal IT through off‑premise hosting.
