RWJBarnabas Health aimed to increase radial (wrist) versus femoral access across its system’s 10 catheterization labs but lacked clean, continuous, credible data to track provider behavior and progress. To drive this quality-improvement effort, RWJBarnabas partnered with Intelerad and implemented HealthView Analytics (HVA) by LUMEDX to extract, standardize and visualize access-site data from hemodynamic logs.

Intelerad’s HVA provided near‑real‑time, NLP-enhanced dashboards that let leaders compare providers, sites, and systemwide performance, enabling targeted training, standardized protocols, and peer benchmarking. The initiative moved radial access from 8% in 2013 to a preliminary 49% systemwide in 2020 (with four hospitals exceeding that and two reaching 70% and 75%), and RWJBarnabas now uses radial access in about 50% of eligible cases—supporting faster ambulation and more same‑day discharges.
