One of North America’s Most Innovative Academic Health Centres Uses Intelerad to Provide Specialized Patient Care to 750,000 Patients Across Five Hospitals

McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), one of Canada’s largest academic health centres serving more than 750,000 patients across five hospitals, needed a consistent, efficient multi-site imaging and teaching workflow to support specialized care and train residents. To address high-volume subspecialty reads, cross-site reporting, and timely clinician communication, MUHC turned to Intelerad and its imaging solutions, notably InteleViewer and IntelePACS.

Intelerad implemented InteleViewer (with integrated speech recognition, hanging protocols and an IM tool), InteleConnect for referring physicians, and a teaching module to provide a single enterprise worklist filtered by subspecialty and color-prioritized urgency. The solution enabled MUHC’s 50 radiologists to read large volumes reliably across sites, supported home and multi-site reporting, improved consults and resident training workflows, and delivers consistent, fast performance—supporting care for over 750,000 patients annually and sustaining a long-term, productive relationship with Intelerad.
