Memorial Hermann Manages High Volumes of Imaging Data with Intelerad

Memorial Hermann, the largest health system in Southeast Texas with 16 hospitals and over 200 specialty facilities, faced growing inefficiencies and risk from rapid inbound trauma referrals and reliance on CDs for image exchange. To modernize image management and support its large network of providers and patients, Memorial Hermann turned to Intelerad and its InteleShare VNA (formerly Ambra).

Intelerad implemented InteleShare VNA to connect 100+ external sending sites via Gateways, image-enable inpatient and outpatient EHRs (including Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, eCW), and provide cloud-based backup and web access. As a result, Memorial Hermann achieved business continuity for 2.2 million studies per year, reduced duplicate imaging and improved ACO quality metrics, and sped trauma and telestroke care by delivering critical images to clinicians before patient arrival.
