How One Academic Medical Center Eliminated CDs

The University of Cincinnati Medical Center faced slow, labor-intensive clinical trial imaging workflows that relied on mailed CDs, manual PACS requests, and time-consuming anonymization and matching of imaging with clinical data. To modernize these processes, the center worked with Intelerad to deploy InteleShare Research, a cloud-based research PACS and imaging-sharing solution.

Intelerad implemented InteleShare Research with automated, configurable Gateways (5 Gateways installed) to securely upload, client-side anonymize, route and store multisite imaging, and preserve ~4,000 subject IDs for an ongoing parent study. The result was elimination of CD exchanges, a 3–5X faster study upload and anonymization process, reduced administrative burden, faster access for central readers, and streamlined integration of imaging with clinical data across trials. Intelerad’s solution enabled secure, auditable sharing and customizable workflows and eCRFs for multicenter research.
