Alliance Medical, the UK’s leading independent medical imaging provider operating 50 centres and about 40 mobile scanners and serving some 400,000 patients a year, faced a major challenge: its legacy PACS was designed for single-site hospitals and could not cope with frequent site moves, distributed image distribution, or varied customer workflows. To achieve the flexibility and remote reporting they needed, Alliance Medical selected IntelePACS (with InteleViewer) from Intelerad.

Intelerad deployed IntelePACS across the nationwide network, delivering central visibility, HL7-integrated reporting, remote reporting/overflow routing, double-read workflows, analytics, and specialist integrations. Within a month or two Alliance Medical saw immediate benefits—remote reporters could log in from home with live worklists, reports were captured and distributed electronically, legacy systems were consolidated, quality and cost control improved—and the platform played a key role in helping Alliance Medical secure the ten-year National PET/CT contract.
