Atrius Health Optimizes Image Management Workflow

Atrius Health, a nonprofit care network serving 740,000 patients across 34 locations and 900 physicians, faced slow and fragmented image sharing—relying on CDs and multiple PACS logins that often left radiologists without priors, forcing addenda and wasting clinician and admin time. To address this, Atrius partnered with Intelerad, deploying the Ambra Health cloud imaging platform to build a customized image-management workflow.

Intelerad implemented a tailored Ambra solution that pre-fetches prior studies, integrates an “External Library” into Atrius’s PACS, and routes images automatically so scheduling staff can request and receive prior imaging in seconds. The Intelerad/Ambra deployment reduced film-library administration (previously ~12 CDs/day and 4–5 hours), saved about 8 hours of radiologist time per week, improved report accuracy and appointment efficiency, and boosted revenue.
