Ambra Health Image Enables HIE Networks

HIE Networks, the only real operating HIE in Florida with 1.2 million patients and roughly 2,000 provider users, faced slow, paper-based imaging exchange where clinicians faxed requests and waited for CDs delivered by courier. To eliminate those delays, HIE Networks partnered with Intelerad and deployed the Ambra Health image-enablement platform to integrate imaging into the HIE.

Intelerad’s Ambra Health solution made about 500,000 patient images instantly available via the web, enabling immediate viewing by providers across the network and cutting duplicate imaging and redundant radiation. The deployment supports roughly 2,000 providers, speeds image access (physicians report viewing up to twice as fast versus prior VPN connections), and streamlined care coordination across HIE Networks’ 1.2M-patient footprint.
