The Tampa Bay Rays, a Major League Baseball team, needed a better way to manage a high volume and variety of contracts across the organization. With a one-person legal department, John Higgins faced a manual, unscalable process that limited visibility, made collaboration across departments difficult, and lacked a centralized repository for agreements. IntelAgree’s contract management platform, including its contract creation tools and searchable repository, was used to help address these challenges.

IntelAgree implemented a contract creation wizard using the Rays’ custom templates, built a clause library for approved language, and streamlined review, approval, and eSignature workflows for the corporate partnerships team. The solution improved consistency and standardization of contract language, increased visibility into contractual obligations and opportunities, simplified contract execution, and reduced risk. With IntelAgree, the Rays were able to create self-service agreements and plan for broader organization-wide rollout.
