Porter Academy boosts auditory processing from 1st to 73rd percentile with Integrated Listening Systems

Integrated Listening Systems worked with Porter Academy to help a nine-year-old student with ADHD and Asperger’s Syndrome who faced significant challenges with emotional regulation, auditory processing, and attention. The student's behaviors, which included running from class and physical aggression, had previously led to his dismissal from multiple schools, creating a barrier to his education and social development.

The solution implemented by Integrated Listening Systems was the iLs Sensory Motor Program, integrated with occupational therapy activities. This program was administered three times per week. The results were transformative: the student completed a full school year without incident for the first time, achieved straight A's, and showed vastly improved emotional regulation and social skills. Measurable impacts included his auditory processing composite score rising from the 1st percentile to the 73rd percentile, moving from the "disordered" to "normal" range.
