Veritas Environment Sdn Bhd used Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE software to evaluate energy-saving opportunities for the proposed JohorLand Tower in Johor Bahru, a multi-tenanted office development above an existing retail podium. The challenge was to identify practical design improvements that could significantly reduce the building’s future energy use, operating costs, and cooling demand before construction.

Integrated Environmental Solutions supported Veritas Environment with detailed simulation studies in ApacheSim and ApacheHVAC across 47 design enhancement features, including daylight harvesting, insulation, glazing, air-tightness, lighting controls, and HVAC optimization. The analysis showed the tower could cut overall energy consumption by up to 73%, reduce annual energy running costs from RM 2 million to RM 500,000, lower BEI from 212 to 80 kWh/(m2.year), and reduce peak cooling load by 35.5%.
