Veritas Environment cuts JohorLand Tower energy use by 73% with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The customer, Veritas Environment Sdn Bhd, faced the challenge of reducing energy consumption for the proposed JohorLand Tower, a multi-tenanted office building in Malaysia. They utilized the IESVE software from vendor Integrated Environmental Solutions to perform simulation studies and assess 47 different design enhancement features.

Integrated Environmental Solutions' solution involved detailed simulation studies using ApacheSim and ApacheHVAC to model passive strategies, lighting improvements, and air-conditioning system optimizations. This resulted in a potential 73% reduction in the building's overall energy consumption, slashing annual energy running costs from RM 2 million to RM 500,000 and reducing the building energy intensity from 212 kWh/(m².year) to 80 kWh/(m².year). The peak cooling load was also reduced by 35.5%.
