University College London teaches 60 students a year with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The customer, University College London (UCL), needed to prepare students from diverse academic backgrounds to design energy-efficient buildings and address urgent decarbonization targets within the built environment. To achieve this, UCL required a core building simulation software that was both widely used in the industry and accessible for teaching. They partnered with vendor Integrated Environmental Solutions to utilize the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE).

Integrated Environmental Solutions' IESVE provided an integrated suite of applications with an easy-to-use interface, making it ideal for teaching students with non-technical backgrounds. The software became the core tool for the MSc program, used by approximately 60 students annually for evidence-based design and lifecycle carbon analysis. The solution equipped graduates with the skills for a seamless transition into industry roles, directly supporting the global effort to decarbonize the built environment.
