True Energy Solutions delivers 70% energy savings with Integrated Environmental Solutions

True Energy Solutions (TES), an energy consultancy, was tasked with designing the first BREEAM Excellent certified building in the Baltic region, a multi-storey office building in Riga. To meet this challenge, they utilized the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) from Integrated Environmental Solutions to inform their sustainable design decisions.

Using the IESVE software, Integrated Environmental Solutions' tools enabled extensive energy and daylight modelling. This allowed TES to optimize the building envelope, lighting, and HVAC systems, leading to a 70% reduction in regulated energy consumption compared to the ASHRAE baseline. The project achieved its BREEAM Excellent rating, won the award for the Most Sustainable Project in Latvia in 2015, and was predicted to save approximately 20% on lighting energy costs.
