A Integrated Environmental Solutions Case Study
TLC, an engineering firm acting as a sub-consultant, was tasked with creating a detailed energy model for the new Jamaican Houses of Parliament to demonstrate it met a key sustainability goal of achieving at least 20% energy savings compared to the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standard. To meet this challenge, they utilized the IESVE software from Integrated Environmental Solutions.
Using the IES Virtual Environment, TLC analyzed the design to identify cooling as the primary energy end use. They evaluated the impact of glazing performance and optimized the dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) operation, discovering that supplying cold air to the VRF units would lower energy costs and peak cooling loads. Integrated Environmental Solutions' technology allowed TLC to successfully demonstrate that the design met the project's 20% energy savings goal, ensuring a good investment of taxpayer funds.
