Sphera achieves 86.2% cooling cost reduction with Integrated Environmental Solutions

Sphera, a sustainability consultant based in Costa Rica, faced the challenge of designing buildings with optimal energy performance and thermal comfort, particularly needing advanced software for bioclimatic simulations like natural ventilation that their legacy tools could not provide. They turned to Integrated Environmental Solutions and adopted the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) to meet these needs for their clients' projects.

Integrated Environmental Solutions' IESVE software provided Sphera with intuitive tools for detailed energy modelling and analysis, enabling them to design effective natural ventilation and lighting strategies. The results were significant, including an average of 34.2% energy savings across projects and a standout achievement of 86.2% energy savings for the Plaza Telares shopping centre, which also achieved Net Zero verification and improved indoor environmental quality.
