Sheffield Hallam University teaches 95 students annually with Integrated Environmental Solutions

Sheffield Hallam University sought to advance its teaching of building performance simulation beyond simple software, aiming to provide architecture students with a more accurate and evidence-based design tool. The university partnered with Integrated Environmental Solutions to implement its IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) software within its 'Environment and Technology' modules.

Integrated Environmental Solutions provided its IESVE software, which is now taught over a three-year curriculum to help students progress from basic passive strategies to complex active system analysis. The solution enables students to simulate, validate, and optimize building performance with reliable data, moving beyond assumptions to create designs that meet sustainability and business objectives, including zero carbon targets. Annually, 95 undergraduate and postgraduate students use the software to develop these critical skills.
