Passive House Institute of Darmstadt achieves 5 kWh/(m²a) heating demand with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The Passive House Institute of Darmstadt required extremely stable indoor climate conditions for the new Museum of Bavarian History to protect exhibits and ensure visitor comfort, while also meeting strict Passive House certification criteria. Integrated Environmental Solutions' IESVE software was used by consultants Herz & Lang GmbH to perform the necessary dynamic simulation analysis for this challenge.

Using Integrated Environmental Solutions' technology, a highly detailed whole-building model was created to accurately simulate solar gains, shading, and the HVAC system's performance. This solution successfully ensured the building met the demanding Passive House standards for heating and cooling demand and identified the most cost-effective way to maintain the required indoor climate, preventing system oversizing.
