NABERSNZ achieves 5* NABERSNZ rating and 50% better energy performance with Integrated Environmental Solutions

NABERSNZ, a national building energy rating system, faced the challenge of transforming the 46-year-old Aorangi House into a high-performance, sustainable office building. Integrated Environmental Solutions addressed this by providing its IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) software to engineering firm Beca, which was used to design a renovation targeting a 5-Star Greenstar rating and superior indoor environmental quality.

Using IESVE, Integrated Environmental Solutions' technology enabled a passive solar design strategy that improved natural ventilation and thermal comfort. The solution successfully helped the building become the first refurbished office in New Zealand to achieve a 5-Star NABERSNZ Base Building Rating, demonstrating a 50% better energy performance than the average office.
