MCW Custom Energy Solutions Ltd reduces annual energy use by 13% with Integrated Environmental Solutions

Integrated Environmental Solutions worked with MCW Custom Energy Solutions Ltd, a consulting engineering firm, to review and improve the energy efficiency of two proposed government buildings for the Nunavut Research Institute. The challenge was to validate and enhance an existing design to maximize energy savings for the new buildings in Iqaluit.

Using the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) software, Integrated Environmental Solutions enabled MCW to model and analyze various design modifications. This process resulted in annual energy reductions of 13% and 12% for the two buildings, translating to 56% and 52% less energy consumption compared to the Model National Energy Code baseline. These significant savings would have made the projects eligible for multiple LEED certification points.
