The customer, Mace, faced the challenge of efficiently assessing energy performance certificate (EPC) ratings for a large real estate portfolio, including the Manchester Anchorage Office, to ensure compliance with UK regulations. This process was resource-intensive, requiring numerous simulations for various retrofit scenarios. Integrated Environmental Solutions supported the solution through its IESVE platform, which Mace enhanced by developing custom Python scripts to automate EPC calculations and batch-run simulations. This integration with the CRREM tool provided faster, accurate insights into decarbonization. The automation allowed over 1,000 compliance simulations across multiple scenarios, streamlining the process, reducing manual error, and enabling precise evaluation of retrofit impacts on energy performance and carbon risk.
