Kildare County Council cuts carbon emissions 80% by 2030 with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The customer, Kildare County Council, faced operational challenges and the need to decarbonize its 12,500 m² headquarters to meet Ireland’s Climate Action Plan. Their building systems were aging, leading to energy waste and comfort issues. Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) used its Virtual Environment (IESVE) software to conduct an energy audit and develop a strategic decarbonization roadmap.

Integrated Environmental Solutions provided a comprehensive solution that included a detailed retrofit strategy to transition the building to all-electric heating with heat pumps, accurately sized using ApacheHVAC. The results were a projected 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, far exceeding the mandate, and over €65,000 in annual energy savings. The roadmap also identified immediate no-cost operational changes and quantified the elimination of 779,653 kWh of natural gas.
