The customer, Irish Rail, faced the challenge of retrofitting the historic Heuston Station to meet 2050 net zero energy targets while respecting its heritage status and overcoming a lack of comprehensive building records. Integrated Environmental Solutions' IESVE energy modelling software was used to analyze the building and identify viable energy upgrades.

Integrated Environmental Solutions, through their partner Delap and Waller, implemented a detailed energy modelling analysis using a fabric-first approach. This innovative, room-by-room simulation identified a series of energy upgrades that could improve the station's energy rating from an F to a B3, achieving over 62% energy savings and an estimated 67.46% reduction in carbon emissions.
