Four Seasons Hotel reduces HVAC costs and equipment needs with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The Four Seasons Hotel, a five-star luxury building in downtown Manhattan, worked with Integrated Environmental Solutions to optimize the HVAC design for their new 70-story tower. The challenge was to accurately size the HVAC equipment to ensure high comfort levels in New York's humid summer climate while also finding opportunities to reduce construction costs.

Integrated Environmental Solutions used its IES Virtual Environment software, including the ApacheSim, ApacheHVAC, and SunCast modules, to create a 3D model for detailed analysis. This solution enabled the consultant, VE Solutions, to right-size the HVAC equipment, leading to a significant reduction in the required amount of equipment, ductwork, and piping. For the Four Seasons Hotel, this resulted in lower HVAC costs and improved comfort through more effective dehumidification.
