A Integrated Environmental Solutions Case Study
EnerZam Consultants, a team of architects, engineers, and technicians focused on building energy efficiency, used Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE to study a 22-storey multi-unit residential building in Quebec. Their challenge was to evaluate energy conservation measures, compare a VRF system versus a hydronic loop, and optimize the design for lower operating costs while maximizing eligibility for provincial incentives.
Using Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE, EnerZam modeled and tested multiple HVAC and building service options, including a high-efficiency makeup air system, hydronic loop improvements, and a VRF system. The solution helped them optimize energy consumption for the design-stage incentive process, upgrade makeup air efficiency from 80% to 90%, and submit the model for auditing with the goal of securing a significant number of grants; EnerZam reported that the software enabled accurate results even for a new VRF system.
