Enbee models government refurbishment with Integrated Environmental Solutions to reach 60% primary energy savings

Integrated Environmental Solutions worked with Enbee, a non-government organization working on a European energy efficiency certificate, to model the energy performance of a government building refurbishment. The challenge was to use energy modeling to simulate three building designs and plan energy conservation measures that would achieve 60% primary energy savings.

Using the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE), Integrated Environmental Solutions modeled various upgrades including thermal insulation, triple-glazed windows, and an efficient VRV HVAC system. The solution also included simulating a photovoltaic array, which was calculated to generate 21,360 kWh of electricity per annum. This pushed the project's primary energy savings beyond the target of 60%, successfully cutting emissions and improving comfort.
