ecoMECH ENGINEERING - Customer Case Study

ecoMECH ENGINEERING, a building services engineering firm, was tasked with modelling the energy performance and life cycle costs of the newly refurbished Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. The challenge was to predict future running costs while maintaining strict temperature and humidity control for a 100-year-old museum expansion that included critical exhibition space and new education and administrative areas. Integrated Environmental Solutions provided IESVE to support the analysis.

Using Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE, ecoMECH ENGINEERING simulated thermal and infiltration loads and developed a realistic building load profile for detailed energy and LCC analysis. The analysis led to design improvements such as added insulation to the existing exhibition under croft soffit, helping reduce annual energy consumption by approximately AUD 15,000 per year while still meeting strict indoor environmental requirements.
