Dialog quantifies energy and CO2 savings with Integrated Environmental Solutions using 2-step HVAC modelling

Dialog, an integrated design firm, faced the challenge of accurately quantifying the energy and CO2 savings of innovative, high-performance HVAC systems, which was difficult using traditional spreadsheet methods. To overcome this, they worked with vendor Integrated Environmental Solutions and utilized their ERGON freeform profile tool integrated with the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) suite.

Integrated Environmental Solutions' solution involved a two-step process using ERGON to feed simulated hourly data back into the IESVE model, enabling the accurate modeling of complex systems like an exhaust air heat recovery system and a chilled water economizer. This streamlined approach provided greater accuracy, was less prone to error, and allowed Dialog to better quantify the energy and CO2 savings of their high-performance HVAC designs for projects targeting LEED certification.

Dialog
