Dialog, an integrated design firm in North America, wanted a better way to accurately quantify energy and CO2 savings from high-performing, highly customized HVAC systems. Working with Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), the team used IESVE and the ERGON freeform profile tool to model systems that were too complex for standard spreadsheet methods, including an exhaust air heat recovery system and a chilled water economizing system.

Integrated Environmental Solutions helped Dialog apply a two-step simulation process: first generating hourly outputs from a preliminary model, then importing those results into ERGON to improve accuracy in the final simulation. This enabled Dialog to better capture actual system performance, reduce modeling error, and more confidently quantify energy and CO2 savings, supporting more accurate designs for competition and LEED® Silver projects.
