A Integrated Environmental Solutions Case Study
Cyclone Energy Group helped Walgreens tackle an ambitious challenge: building the first potential U.S. net-zero energy retail store in Evanston, Illinois, while also pursuing LEED Platinum and other green certifications. To support the project, Cyclone used Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) software, specifically IESVE, as part of the design and commissioning process.
Using Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE and SCAN tools, Cyclone Energy Group validated the building design, tested daylighting, HVAC, and control strategies, and continuously calibrated systems during startup and operation. The result was Walgreens’ first net-zero energy retail store, estimated to use 200,000 kWh annually while generating 220,000 kWh annually, and earning Net-Zero Energy Building Certification along with LEED Platinum.
