A Integrated Environmental Solutions Case Study
Clemson University faced the challenge of renovating the historic Tillman Auditorium into a regularly occupied lecture hall while preserving its architectural integrity and ensuring occupant thermal comfort. The building's single-pane glazing, poor wall insulation, and constraints on ductwork routing created a complex HVAC design problem. Integrated Environmental Solutions' IESVE software with its MicroFlo-CFD capabilities was used to evaluate design options for this thermally challenging environment.
Integrated Environmental Solutions provided a data-driven solution through integrated CFD analysis within the IESVE platform. This enabled the design team to compare HVAC configurations and confidently select an option that provided superior air mixing, eliminating hot spots and ensuring consistent thermal comfort. The analysis also created a detailed performance model that serves as a baseline for ongoing operational optimization and commissioning.
