CityHousing Hamilton achieves up to 55.3% energy savings with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The customer, CityHousing Hamilton, was seeking to identify energy conservation measures for a building to reduce costs, improve resident comfort, and lower greenhouse gas emissions. They appointed a team from McMaster University, who utilized the IESVE software from vendor Integrated Environmental Solutions to perform an energy audit and model retrofit plans.

Using IESVE, the team created an accurate energy model of the building and simulated various scenarios to evaluate different packages of conservation measures. The solution implemented by Integrated Environmental Solutions enabled the team to propose options achieving up to 55.3% in overall energy savings and annual utility savings of up to $294,400, with a payback period as low as seven years.
