ChaAC I+n+c calibrates mall model to 87% accuracy with Integrated Environmental Solutions

Integrated Environmental Solutions worked with ChaAC I+N+C, a long-term user of their IES Virtual Environment software. The customer's challenge was to accurately calibrate a building energy model of an existing European mall to match its real-world operational performance, a process complicated by difficulties in accessing energy consumption data and the impact of COVID-19 restrictions.

The solution involved using IES's iSCAN tool for model calibration training and analysis. By integrating actual metered data, ChaAC I+N+C successfully calibrated the mall's model to an 87% accuracy. Using this calibrated model, Integrated Environmental Solutions' technology enabled the exploration of various energy efficiency measures, which identified a potential 58.4% reduction in energy consumption. This impact could be increased to a 73.3% reduction with the addition of photovoltaic panels.
