CBT Architects - Customer Case Study

CBT Architects worked with Fitchburg State University on a major renovation and 55,625-square-foot addition to the university’s Science Building, with the goal of improving energy efficiency while keeping costs under control. To support the project, CBT Architects used Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE software as part of an integrated design process to analyze daylighting, solar, thermal, ventilation, and energy performance during schematic design.

Using Integrated Environmental Solutions’ IESVE platform, CBT Architects collaborated with energy consultants and engineers to evaluate design options and project savings. The approach helped the university achieve LEED Silver certification, reduce cooling loads by 21%, save more than $34,000 annually in operating costs, and cut construction and renovation costs by $1.5 million.
