A Integrated Environmental Solutions Case Study
The Brussels Airport Company, a major international airport, faced the challenge of developing a robust plan to achieve its goal of reaching net-zero emissions across its buildings by 2030. To address this, the airport partnered with Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) to utilize their digital twin technology for decarbonisation modelling.
Integrated Environmental Solutions created a digital twin of the airport's 40 most energy-intensive buildings to model various decarbonisation scenarios. This allowed them to verify the airport's plan, which included interventions like installing solar PV and electrifying heat. IES's modelling confirmed the potential for up to 63% CO2 savings against a 2019 baseline, providing a clear and evidence-based pathway for the airport to deploy zero-carbon solutions with confidence.
