Airbus cuts energy use by 3.65 GWh/year with Integrated Environmental Solutions

The customer, Airbus, faced the challenge of improving energy consumption and resource use within its large-scale manufacturing facility. To address this, they partnered with vendor Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) to utilize a groundbreaking integrated modelling tool, which was the precursor to IES's Digital Twin technology.

Integrated Environmental Solutions implemented a solution that created an integrated model of the building physics and manufacturing processes to understand the factory's overall energy balance. This allowed Airbus to identify and eliminate energy waste, such as running an Air Handling Unit during production stoppages. The results for Airbus included an annual energy reduction of 3.65 GWh, a cost reduction of 201k€, and a CO2 reduction of 1250 tonnes.
