Ballard Spahr Migrates from LegalKEY to Intapp for Intake and Conflicts

Ballard Spahr LLP, an Am Law 100 firm, was using an outdated version of LegalKEY for conflicts management and new business intake. The legacy system, managed by OpenText, was not being updated and required significant external developer support for even minor changes or new reports. This necessitated a move to a more modern and responsive tool, leading the firm to issue a formal RFP.

Intapp provided a solution with its conflicts and intake systems, which offered a modern framework and self-service maintenance capabilities. The firm could now independently create reports, modify forms, and adjust workflows without developer intervention. The implementation, assisted by InOutsource, included data cleanup and the setup of Intapp Walls for enterprise-wide ethical wall enforcement. The results included greatly increased speed for delivering system changes and new reports, along with the new ability to produce security audit reports for clients, ensuring compliance with client guidelines.
