Toyota Motor Europe Maximizes IT Investment with Intalio

Toyota Motor Europe, the Belgium‑headquartered distributor and regional engineering hub for Toyota and Lexus in Europe, needed to cut rising license, training and hardware costs while breaking free of a single‑vendor, proprietary application server. With hundreds of engineers supporting both internal and external applications, IT sought a lighter‑weight, open, standards‑compliant platform that would boost development efficiency, reduce infrastructure footprint, and lower total cost of ownership.

After a successful proof‑of‑concept, Toyota standardized on Eclipse Jetty with Intalio|Jetty services. The move delivered higher performance, a much smaller footprint, easier development and deployment, and lower licensing and maintenance costs. Jetty is now used for more than 100 applications by over 100 internal and about 200 external engineers, with Intalio support accelerating adoption and Toyota evaluating wider rollout across the organization.
