GD - Customer Case Study

GD, the Dutch Animal Health Service, faced the urgent challenge of modernizing its national animal certification program: it needed to automate an estimated 250 million long-running certification processes involving 100,000 farmers, hundreds of veterinary practices and dozens of organizations. The legacy COS-A system had become a tangled web of integrations and slow release cycles, limiting visibility and delaying critical updates needed to react quickly to disease outbreaks and protect the food supply.

Working with Perfect Connection and Alexsys, GD adopted Intalio|bpms and rebuilt the system as COS-B — a zero-code, visual BPM solution with a registrative layer, an orchestrator and the Intalio process engine. COS-B splits work into 230 business and 60 technical processes, integrates eight backend systems to run 18 certification programs, and gives 40+ users unified traceability, faster interventions, easier updates and scalable long-running process management so GD can respond rapidly to new animal disease threats.
