Comil Applies Intalio|bpms to Supply Chain, Increasing Output and Profits

Comil Carrocerias e Ônibus is a Brazilian bus and coach manufacturer that faced a production bottleneck as sales grew across Brazil and Latin America. To keep up with demand without sacrificing quality or increasing overtime, Comil partnered with Intalio Brazil (and implementation partner Projeler) to find a faster, more transparent way to optimize its supply chain and manufacturing processes.

Using Intalio|bpms to map and automate the end-to-end supply chain, Comil implemented real-time tracking (iPads on the floor and LED metrics) and rapid process improvements. The result: daily output rose from 12 to 19 units, average build time fell from 152 to 34 hours, rework and operating costs declined, IT workload was reduced, and the company reported $550M in sales in 2011—while planning further process rollouts.
