A INT Software Case Study
Veritas DGC Inc. needed a more powerful and cost-effective way to show its seismic data library to prospective clients. Previously, sales teams relied on third-party tools that required data format changes and multiple copies of the data, or they had to bring customers to expensive, time-consuming visualization centers. To support its Vega seismic processing system, Veritas chose INT Software’s INT GeoToolkit C++ Toolkit to build EXPOSE, a desktop seismic visualization module.
INT Software’s GeoToolkit enabled Veritas to create a portable version of EXPOSE with features such as zooming, scrolling, changing scale and colors, adjusting gain, viewing RMS amplitude values, and comparing sections. When Veritas moved from Motif to Qt for Windows and Linux support, very little code change was needed for the GeoToolkit-based components, saving significant redevelopment effort. The system was first deployed in Asia Pacific and could hold the equivalent of 100,000 kilometers of 2D data at 8-second record lengths, delivering outstanding graphics performance and helping Veritas gain a competitive edge in the region.
