Ultra-Scale Visualization High-Performance Large Dataset Reservoir Rendering with OpenGL

TotalEnergies needed a way to visualize and work with extremely large reservoir models—more than one billion cells—without losing accuracy or forcing heavy simplification. INT Software addressed this challenge with its GeoToolkit product for geoscience visualization.

INT Software built a giga-cell reservoir grid rendering library for TotalEnergies using a multi-resolution octree-based approach, parallel loading, and streaming to support ultra-scale 3D rendering on workstations, laptops, or server-side. The solution enabled faster visualization and analysis of massive datasets, helping TotalEnergies maintain data integrity and improve the accuracy of reservoir interpretation and recovery predictions.
