Rock Solid Images, a Houston-based leader in rock-physics applications for seismic and borehole data, needed a better way to handle a complex workflow across hundreds of wells each year. To improve throughput and reliability, the company turned to INT and its Toolkits to replace a patchwork of in-house and third-party applications with a single platform for advanced rock-physics and seismic modeling.

INT worked in a joint development effort with Rock Solid Images to build the iMOSS application, contributing toolkits plus integration and graphics expertise while Rock Solid Images provided engineering staff and scientific algorithms. The solution reached beta quickly, was demonstrated at SEG 2004, and later went into production, with Rock Solid Images estimating a 30% efficiency improvement along with greater reliability and robustness.
